Freshmen

Students are automatically awarded Academic or Presidential scholarships based on their unweighted GPA and ACT Superscore. To qualify for these scholarships, students must be admitted by the listed priority deadline. Incoming freshmen are defined as first-time, full-time freshmen graduating from high school in the corresponding aid year.

Transfer Students

Transfer Scholarship Deadlines occur each semester:

• Spring Transfers – November 1 deadline
•  Fall Transfers – June 1 deadline

Students are automatically awarded merit transfer scholarships based on their credit hours and GPA. Students must submit a Phi Theta Kappa letter or certificate to admissions@una.edu for additional awards. Transfer students may also apply for Scholarships of Distinction, Endowed, and Performance awards, or qualify for various employer discounts. Learn More

New Start Scholarship

New students enrolled in any online graduate program (online or on-campus), certificate, or micro-credential will automatically qualify and receive a complimentary first course tuition scholarship when enrolled in two or more courses their first semester. Start your degree with an extra boost—all compliments of a university that’s here to support and challenge you.

Endowed Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Scholarships

Through the efforts of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Foundation and the generosity of private donors, the Office of Student Financial Aid awards numerous endowed scholarships each academic year. These scholarships from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ are offered by various colleges, departments, and offices throughout the University. Learn More

Alumni Scholarship (NEW)

We are proud to offer qualifying Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ graduates a scholarship covering 15% of tuition toward an eligible graduate or micro-credential program, available online or on campus.

To receive the scholarship, students must be admitted to an eligible program and verified as a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ alum by the Student Accounts Office. Once alumni status and eligibility are confirmed, the scholarship will be applied to the student’s account. Please note: this is not stackable with any other Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Scholarships.

LEAD School District Employee Partnership

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers incoming students from our Alabama school system partners the opportunity to obtain an advanced degree at a reduced cost. Learn More

Award = 33% tuition scholarship

Senior adults (age 65 and over) may audit one course per semester at no cost, on a space available basis. Cost definition includes tuition only. Senior Scholars are still subject to any course fees such as applied music fees, technology fees, health fees, etc.

Executive Doctor of Business Administration Scholarships (EDBA)

The following scholarship opportunities are available to Executive Doctor of Business Administration students: Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Alumni, active or retired military, employees in higher education, employees of a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ corporate partner, and Alabama residents. Award = Up to $25,000/student

Military Heroes Scholarship (NEW)

This scholarship is offered to any active duty or veteran of the U.S. Military, current members of the National Guard or Reserves, and/or their spouses. Students must enroll in a bachelor’s degree or graduate program (online or on campus), certificate, or micro-credential to qualify. The scholarship is need-based. 

Award = 33% tuition scholarship

ROTC

Army ROTC scholarships are offered at several different monetary levels and all applicants are considered for each level. Army ROTC scholarships provide money for college tuition, educational fees, and a book allowance. Scholarship winners also receive a tax-free living allowance for each year the scholarship is in effect. The selection of scholarship awardees is based upon performance in college-level academic studies. Learn More
